Skin rejuvenation and skin resurfacing are both wonderful cosmetic treatments, but they aren’t the same. These two terms are often mixed up and confused, leading many of our patients to wonder which treatment they actually need. Call us today and come in for personalized advice (we’d love to recommend the perfect treatment for your skin), but in the meantime, keep reading to discover the difference between these two powerful anti-aging treatments.
Skin Rejuvenation and Skin Resurfacing: A Few Similarities
Skin rejuvenation and skin resurfacing do have a few similarities (perhaps that’s where the confusion begins) that make both of these treatments patient favorites. Before we delve into the differences, let’s see how they are the same.
- Use Powerful Devices: The skin-boosting benefits of these treatments come from powerful devices that we use during your treatment. We offer multiple devices and treatment options for both rejuvenation and resurfacing treatments. This allows us to choose the device that will best achieve your goals and work with your specific skin type and problems.
- Non-Invasive: These treatments are typically non-invasive. Needles, incisions and surgery aren’t generally a part of these treatments. Our patients love that non-invasive treatments can provide stunning results with a minimal recovery period and without surgery.
- Minimal Recovery: Many of our resurfacing and rejuvenation treatments require no downtime. Come in, get treated and head right back to life. You may experience a bit of redness or swelling, but this typically fades quickly. You may be advised to stay out of the sun or to wear sunscreen after treatment.
While these treatments do have similarities, they also have many differences. Take a look!
Skin Rejuvenation
Skin rejuvenation treatments are an ideal choice for patients who want to improve the overall appearance of their skin. They work well on uneven skin tone and unpleasant skin texture. This procedure can smooth and tighten skin, shrink pores, brighten the skin, smooth scars and reduce acne. We often use laser devices to rejuvenate the skin, but we also have a microcurrent device and a radiofrequency device available. We have 4 different options for skin rejuvenation.
Skin Resurfacing
Skin resurfacing might be the right treatment for you if you have rough or dull skin. This treatment provides exfoliation and can help remove scars, improve skin tone, etc. It is also the better choice for patients with spider veins, port wine stains and Rosacea. We have two different devices available for this treatment. Typically we recommend a series of treatments every other week until optimal results are achieved.
